Final capping of the Ca’ Rafaneto di Barchi landfill (Pesaro and Urbino Province, IT)

The capping was designed in compliance with currently enforced laws of reference (Legislative Decree 121 of 3 September 2020 – Annex 1 “Construction and management criteria for landfills”).
In addition to the final cover, further interventions will be undertaken, two of which of particular importance: enhancement of the leachate extraction plant and realization of a new biogas collection system to be uniformly distributed throughout the entire landfill surface.
In general terms, the current landfill surface will be reshaped to obtain a final configuration which blends harmoniously with the surrounding area. Reshaping operations will entail regularisation of both the slopes and the top of the landfill.
